Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced a HKD 3 million donation to support rural development in Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province, aligning with China’s national rural revitalization policy. The contribution will specifically fund the construction and relocation of the Hangkou Town Healthcare Center, improving medical services for local residents and neighbouring communities. The facility is expected to serve approximately 100,000 people, with an estimated outpatient volume of 40,000 and inpatient volume of 2,500, enhancing healthcare access in this rural area.

In unveiling the project during a signing ceremony held on 30 December 2025, Melco emphasised its commitment to social development and public health improvements, in cooperation with representatives from the Macao SAR Government and the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in Macau. Local officials from Jiangxi Province and Xiushui County also attended, signifying strong cross-regional support for the initiative.

Lawrence Ho, Chairman & CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, highlighted that the company is “honoured to support the nation’s rural revitalization goals”. He noted that high-quality healthcare is essential for sustainable social development, and Melco aims to leverage its resources to strengthen community well-being and contribute to long-term prosperity in China’s countryside. This statement underscores broader corporate social responsibility goals alongside Melco’s business interests.

Ho’s emphasis on social and environmental responsibility also aligns with his wider leadership philosophy at Melco. In sustainability initiatives, he has previously stated that the company seeks to inspire guests and communities by demonstrating a sustainable future, reflecting a commitment to environmental and social governance as part of Melco’s global strategy.
