Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced that it will award a one-month discretionary bonus to eligible non-management employees in Macau and Hong Kong, with payments expected to be completed by the end of January 2026. This follows a common trend among Macau’s gaming operators, where year-end bonuses are typically paid at the start of the new year as a token of appreciation for employees’ contributions.

Lawrence Ho, Chairman and CEO of Melco, said the discretionary bonus reflects the company’s appreciation for the dedication and support shown by colleagues throughout the past year, helping Melco sustain strong hospitality and service performance in a competitive market. Melco reported double-digit revenue growth in late 2025, with operating results reflecting broader recovery in Macau’s tourism and gaming sectors — a backdrop that supports such staff incentives.

This bonus announcement came shortly after Galaxy Entertainment Group became the first of Macau’s six gaming concessionaires to unveil a one-month bonus for its workforce ahead of the Chinese New Year period; similar discretionary bonuses have also been confirmed by MGM China and Wynn Macau as part of the annual cycle of employee rewards across the industry.

Industry observers note that these bonuses not only acknowledge the role of frontline employees in driving service quality and guest satisfaction but also reflect broader confidence in the region’s ongoing tourism rebound. Macau’s integrated resort operators have increasingly relied on these discretionary bonuses as part of overall compensation strategies to retain talent amid competitive labour markets.
