Newport World Resorts operator Travellers International Hotel Group delivered a strong first half of 2026, with attributable net income rising 80% year-on-year to PHP568 million (US$9.3 million) despite continued weakness in VIP gaming.
The result shows how the Manila integrated resort is increasingly benefiting from a more balanced revenue mix.
Mass Market and Non-Gaming Drive Growth
Travellers recorded PHP15.2 billion in net revenue and PHP4.4 billion in EBITDA, with Alliance Global Group attributing the improvement to better cost efficiency and a shift toward higher-margin businesses.
Non-VIP gross gaming revenue increased 6% to PHP9.6 billion, supported partly by growing digital gaming channels, while non-gaming revenue climbed 12% to PHP3.9 billion on stronger hotel room rates and food-and-beverage sales.
AGI President and CEO Kevin Tan said the group’s gaming business continued to grow earnings even as the market moved away from VIP play.

Why It Matters
Newport’s performance reflects a broader shift taking place across Asian integrated resorts: profitability is becoming less dependent on VIP volume and more reliant on mass gaming, digital channels, hotels, dining and entertainment.
That could give Newport World Resorts a more stable earnings base as competition in Manila increases.
The next growth phase will also be important, with Westside Resorts Manila and Narra Palm Resorts and Villas expected to add further capacity to Travellers’ portfolio.
