The Philippines recorded approximately 4.34 million foreign-tourist arrivals during the first ten months (January to October) of 2025, representing a 3.3 % decline from the same period in the previous year according to the Department of Tourism of the Philippines. In total, including overseas Filipinos, the country logged just under 4.77 million arrivals during that period.

In terms of source markets, South Korea remained the largest contributor with nearly 1.05 million visitors (around 21.9 % of all arrivals) but saw a 20.6 % year-on-year drop. The United States was the second-largest source with about 815,745 arrivals (+6.8 % y/y), and Japan ranked third with 373,790 arrivals (+16.1 % y/y). Meanwhile, arrivals from China came in at about 228,151, a −18.6 % decline.

Despite the healthy volume of total arrivals, the downward trend signals that the tourism recovery is facing headwinds — especially from Asian source markets — and suggests the Philippines may fall short of its original 2025 target of 8.4 million international arrivals.
