Macau-based gaming giant Sands China Ltd has confirmed it will distribute discretionary bonuses and implement salary increases for its workforce in early 2026, rounding out the group of six major concessionaires in the region that have recently unveiled staff incentives. The company said eligible full-time team members, comprising about 99 % of its roughly 28,000-strong workforce, will receive a bonus equivalent to one month’s pay as a recognition of their commitment and performance over the past year. The bonus is scheduled to be paid on 6 February 2026.
For the bonus payout, eligible non-management employees who have completed at least one year of service will receive the full one-month equivalent, while management bonuses will be determined based on the company’s performance and individual ratings under its discretionary bonus scheme. Staff who have been employed for less than a year but joined by 1 October 2025 and remain employed on the payout date will receive prorated bonuses.
In addition to the one-off bonus, Sands China announced salary increases effective 1 March 2026. Employees earning a monthly salary of MOP 16,000 (around US $2,000) or below (before tax) will see a pay rise of MOP 500 (about US $62.50), equating to roughly 3.1 %–4.0 %, while those earning above that threshold will receive a 2 % salary increase. These boosts aim to enhance competitiveness in talent retention and acknowledge the efforts of its large operational workforce amid Macau’s robust tourism and gaming recovery.
Grant Chum, CEO and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd, remarked that 2025 had been a record-breaking year for the group, citing strong visitor numbers and a packed calendar of major events including the NBA China Games at the Venetian Arena. He highlighted that the team’s collaboration was key to these achievements and reiterated the company’s commitment to both employee welfare and Macau’s broader development as a leading global tourism and leisure destination.

Sands China’s announcement comes as part of an industry-wide trend in Macau, where peers including Galaxy Entertainment, Melco, MGM China and SJM Resorts have also revealed discretionary bonuses for staff ahead of the Chinese New Year period, underscoring a broader push by operators to reward workforce contributions following strong annual performances.
