The Korean resort and casino Kangwon Land announced that it welcomed approximately 147,550 visitors between 3 and 12 October 2025 during the extended Chuseok holiday period, the holiday that celebrates the harvest and family reunion.

During the same period, Kangwon Land reported an average hotel occupancy rate of about 81.4 %. The holiday-week was extended this year because of nearby public holidays like National Foundation Day (3 October) and Hangul Day (9 October), which boosted the number of consecutive days Koreans could take off.
Despite the strong visitor numbers, Kangwon Land is still facing operational pressures: earlier in the year it reported a 62.2 % year-on-year drop in Q2 net profit, to ₩60.63 billion, citing higher operating costs despite rising casino sales. Looking ahead, the resort plans to open its ski resort component a week earlier than last year (late November) and is preparing for a second casino complex expected in early 2028 — both initiatives meant to broaden its appeal beyond gaming to year-round leisure tourism.
