Construction of the Wynn Al Marjan integrated resort in Ras Al Khaimah has reached a major milestone, with the tower now standing at the 61st floor out of 70. Marjan CEO Abdulla Al Abdouli confirmed that the project remains on schedule, with a grand opening targeted for March 2027. The $3.9 billion resort will be the first integrated gaming property in the Middle East, following Wynn Resorts’ receipt of the UAE’s first commercial gaming operator license in 2024.

The development, situated on a 60-hectare artificial island, will feature 1,542 hotel rooms, 22 dining and lounge outlets, luxury retail, and extensive leisure offerings. Importantly, it will also include a gaming area, a first for the region, marking a historic shift in the UAE’s tourism strategy. Recruitment is already in motion, with Wynn listing nearly 80 job openings in September and planning to employ about 300 staff by year’s end.

Beyond gaming, Wynn Al Marjan is expected to be a catalyst for Ras Al Khaimah’s broader economic transformation. The emirate aims to attract 3.5 million visitors annually by 2030, with complementary projects like RAK Central—set to be the largest business district in the Northern Emirates—supporting this vision. The resort is also expected to fuel demand for residential and commercial development in the surrounding area, creating ripple effects across the local economy.

Industry experts estimate that the UAE’s gaming market could generate up to US$5 billion annually once operational. Wynn has already hinted at plans for a second integrated resort in Ras Al Khaimah, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the emirate. As the region prepares for its debut into regulated gaming, Wynn Al Marjan stands to redefine luxury tourism in the Middle East, blending entertainment, hospitality, and economic growth in one ambitious project.
