Singapore is set to unveil a transformative marine attraction this summer: the Singapore Oceanarium, opening on July 23, 2025, at Resorts World Sentosa. This reimagined and vastly expanded successor to the S.E.A. Aquarium promises an immersive journey through the wonders of our oceans.

A Grand Scale Redefining Ocean Exploration

The Singapore Oceanarium spans three times the size of its predecessor, encompassing 22 meticulously designed zones that guide visitors through the evolution of marine life—from prehistoric times to the present day. This expansive layout offers a comprehensive exploration of marine ecosystems, blending education with entertainment.

Highlighted Zones and Features

Ocean Wonders

Home to one of the world’s largest Kreisel tanks, this zone houses over 5,000 moon jellies, offering a mesmerizing display of these ethereal creatures.

Singapore’s Coast

This area recreates local mangrove ecosystems with interactive displays, highlighting native biodiversity and the importance of coastal habitats.

Ancient Waters & Conquering Land

These zones feature life-sized models of prehistoric sea creatures and living fossils, providing insights into the evolutionary journey of marine life.

Open Ocean

The centerpiece of the oceanarium, this exhibit boasts a massive 36-meter-wide viewing panel, allowing visitors to observe reef manta rays, zebra sharks, and thousands of other marine animals in a vast, open setting.

Advancing Marine Research and Conservation

Beyond its exhibits, the Singapore Oceanarium is committed to marine education and conservation. It has established partnerships with leading academic institutions, including a five-year collaboration with the National University of Singapore and a two-year partnership with the Earth Observatory of Singapore at Nanyang Technological University, focusing on climate resilience and marine conservation.

Adjacent to the oceanarium, a new Research and Learning Centre has been inaugurated. This facility is equipped with immersive learning labs, collaborative workspaces, seminar rooms, and a rooftop event space, all designed to support marine science outreach and education. Notably, the centre is a certified Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy building, utilizing solar power and smart design to minimize its environmental impact.
