Kangwon Land, South Korea's sole casino open to local residents, has initiated the "2025 Integrated Mutual Growth Project" to bolster domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the gaming technology sector. This initiative aims to invigorate the domestic casino device manufacturing industry by offering SMEs support in research and development (R&D) costs, expert consulting, and assistance in expanding sales channels.

The program is structured in phases, beginning with R&D funding, followed by product prototyping, market testing, and scaling up for production. Each participating SME is assigned a support team to guide them from concept to commercial success.

Park Young-shin, head of Kangwon Land’s shared growth division, emphasized that this project is a step toward entering the global casino market by creating shared value with domestic SMEs, substituting imported products, and accumulating domestic technology.

This initiative aligns with Kangwon Land's broader strategy to transform into a global wellness and sports resort, as part of its US$1.9 billion master plan. The plan includes expanding the casino floor, constructing new hotels, and enhancing non-gaming amenities to attract international visitors.

By fostering collaboration between public and private sectors, Kangwon Land aims to set a precedent for mutual growth and innovation in South Korea's gaming industry.
