Macau-based gaming operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has confirmed it will pay a discretionary New Year bonus equivalent to one month’s salary to most of its employee base, recognising their contributions throughout 2025 and reinforcing its commitment to staff welfare and development. The payout is scheduled for 9 February 2026, ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday, and will apply to employees at senior manager grade and below, covering about 97 per cent of the workforce. The bonus package includes both base salary and guaranteed tips where applicable.
The decision by Galaxy to issue this bonus aligns with a broader Macau tradition among casino concessionaires of rewarding staff at year-end. Galaxy is reported to be the first of the city’s six gaming operators to publicise such a bonus this season, signalling confidence in the company’s operational performance and a proactive approach to employee recognition ahead of the Lunar New Year festivities.
Company statements highlight that the bonus reflects Galaxy’s “World Class, Asian Heart” service philosophy, and underscores ongoing initiatives to strengthen its roles in entertainment, sports, culture, and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) events over the past year. The group has emphasised continued investment in staff career development programs aimed at enhancing competitiveness and supporting long-term growth.

Financial context shared in the announcement notes strong 2025 results for GEG, including a 14 per cent year-on-year rise in Q3 net revenue to HKD 12.2 billion and a corresponding increase in adjusted EBITDA to HKD 3.3 billion, alongside a healthy cash position and ongoing investment in resort development through Phase 4 projects slated for completion by 2027.
