HK Express (a low-cost carrier based in Hong Kong) has introduced a new travel product called the “Intermodal Pass” which connects Macau and Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) using a seamless bus + flight booking in one transaction. According to the announcement on 4 November 2025, bookings opened immediately, and the service will commence on 28 November 2025.

Under this setup, travellers in Macau can book a single ticket that covers the shuttle coach ride across the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge (HZMB) boundary, followed by check-in for their flight at Macau port, and onward boarding at HKIA. The coach ride is estimated at about 45 minutes between Macau port and HKIA.

Among the service features: the pass lets travellers complete upstream check-in (and potentially baggage through-check) at the Macau port, thereby avoiding separate immigration or boarding procedures at HKIA for that segment. The shuttle will run 36 trips per day (18 each direction) with buses from Macau to HKIA operating from ~7:30 am to 8:30 pm, and from HKIA to Macau from ~8:30 am to 9:30 pm.

The launch fits within a broader regional mobility agenda covering the Greater Bay Area (GBA), where enhanced connectivity between Macau, Hong Kong, Zhuhai and other cities is a priority. HK Express’ commercial director, Kee Keat Ong, described the Macau extension as a “significant milestone” for seamless cross-border connectivity.
