In a move aimed at strengthening its commitment to community engagement and youth development in Macau, SJM Resorts Ltd announced that it hosted two golf-focused events from 16 to 17 October at the Macau Golf & Country Club. The first, a “School Golf Discovery Day”, and the second, a “Golf Clinic”, brought together approximately 100 primary and secondary school students from various local schools to participate in interactive sessions alongside professional golfers.

The School Golf Discovery Day provided students with hands-on experience of the sport under the guidance of accomplished players such as Chan Shih‑Chang — a five-time Asian Tour champion — and Ding Wenyi — the first Chinese winner of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship (2022) who turned professional recently. These mentoring moments were aimed at helping the students deepen their appreciation for golf and Macau’s broader sports scene.
The Golf Clinic the following day expanded the scope, featuring international professionals like Matthew Cheung (Hong Kong), Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert (Macao Open 2016 champion), and U.S. golfer Berry Henson (finished second in the 2023 International Series Oman). This high-level lineup added prestige and inspiration to the event, underscoring SJM’s aim to connect local youth with top-tier sporting figures.
By partnering with the Macau Golf & Country Club and supporting these events, SJM reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the diverse development of sports in Macau. Beyond merely introducing world-class tournaments like the SJM Macao Open (held 16-19 October), the firm emphasised the importance of community engagement and empowering the next generation of players.
