On May 15, 2025, The Grand Ho Tram in Vietnam's Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province commenced a significant US$1 billion expansion, marking a pivotal moment in the nation's tourism and hospitality sector.

A Visionary Expansion

The 35-hectare development, a collaboration between Lodgis Hospitality Holdings—a joint venture of U.S.-based Warburg Pincus and Vietnam's VinaCapital—and VinaLiving, aims to transform Ho Tram into a premier integrated resort destination. The expansion includes a five-star hotel complex, luxury resort villas, entertainment amenities, and an international convention and exhibition center, increasing the resort's total footprint to 164 hectares.

CEO Walt Power expressed confidence in the project's potential, stating, "We firmly believe that Ho Tram will not only be Vietnam’s leading integrated resort destination but will also be able to compete with top regional destinations such as Singapore, Manila, and Macau."

Strategic Infrastructure Developments

To support the anticipated influx of visitors, infrastructure projects are underway, including new expressways connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa City, Long Thanh District, and Ho Tram Town. A planned expressway linking Long Thanh International Airport and Ho Tram is scheduled to begin construction in September under a public-private partnership model.

Economic and Tourism Impact

The expansion aligns with Vietnam's goal for tourism to contribute up to 17% of the nation's GDP by 2030. With over 6,000 rooms and an estimated daily guest capacity of 18,000, The Grand Ho Tram is poised to become a significant player in the Asian integrated resort market.
