Industry technology supplier FBM has announced the launch of what it describes as the Philippines’ first-ever wide-area progressive (WAP) jackpot system for electronic bingo halls, branded as “MEGAPOT”. The system links multiple bingo venues across the country into a single growing jackpot pool, enabling players from different halls to contribute to, and potentially win, a large collective prize.

According to FBM, MEGAPOT operates automatically whenever players engage with participating bingo-games: no special feature activation or separate bet denomination is required. “Regardless of the bet level or denomination selected, FBM’s active video bingo players across the Philippines are always contributing to MEGAPOT’s growth,” the company states. The jackpot is randomly awarded and can escalate quickly to “millions of Philippine pesos” as it accumulates across venues.

FBM’s rollout of MEGAPOT is part of its broader expansion and commitment to the Philippine gaming market. The company has a long‐standing presence in the country—having introduced slot cabinets and video bingo titles in earlier years—and has recently invested in local software development. For Philippine bingo operators and players, the new system offers a fresh promotional tool: increased excitement through linked jackpots, heightened inter-venue competition, and a strong differentiator in a saturated domestic entertainment market.

From an operational standpoint, deploying a wide-area progressive jackpot poses technical and regulatory challenges—but also significant upsides. Linking multiple venues demands robust back-end connectivity, real‐time jackpot tracking and assured compliance with the local regulator PAGCOR. The fact that FBM is framing MEGAPOT as a major technological milestone suggests confidence in infrastructure and regulatory alignment. Meanwhile, operators can anticipate higher player engagement, longer play sessions, and marketing campaigns built around the large‐scale jackpot. For players, the appeal lies in being part of a broader network with elevated prize potential.
